Making the right call on a crucial career move calls for Vince and the guys to search for clarity and guidance in the arid expanse of Joshua Tree National Park. Meanwhile, Lloyd assists Ari in his time of need.

Ari wagers on a role for Vince in a game of golf with Alan Gray. After causing a televised car chase, Dom asks Vince to bail him out, but only Eric can afford it. Desperate for a job, Turtle agrees to be Drama's personal assistant.

Vince gets a taste of the fashion world when he agrees to do a Dolce & Gabbana photo shoot with a supermodel. Ari pays his respects at a funeral while he tries to work a deal for Vince.

Turtle scores a first class seat next to the star of a now finished HBO series, and makes a mile-high claim to the guys; Josh Weinstein courts Vince whilst Ari is distracted.

On the set of "Smokejumpers," winds up getting his lines stolen by co-star Jason Patric, and not only does the director allow it, but he's too imtimidated by Patric to do anything about it. Ari has lunch with Andrew Klein, an old friend and mentor who needs his help.

Stern advice from Verner, the demanding director of Smokejumpers, unnerves Vince. Meanwhile, Eric dreads the fact that Seth Green is on the short list for Charlie's pilot, and Ari and Lloyd give Andrew a makeover.

During shooting of a pivotal scene for Smokejumpers, Vince gets contradictory direction from Verner, and Ari and Dana Gordon try to put out the flames. After receiving an unexpected call, Turtle has a clandestine meeting.

The guys party it up in NYC despite Vince getting fired, and thanks to a tip from Rita Chase, E tries to get Gus Van Sant to cast Vince in a role, but Van Sant won't let him audition, leading to a confrontation between Vince and Eric in which Vince fires Eric. Meanwhile, Vince reconnects with his high school sweetheart and Drama considers an investment opportunity. Turtle continues to keep his relationship with Jamie-Lynn Sigler a secret. In the end, Ari comes to see Vince, to tell him that Martin Scorsese saw his Smoke Jumpers footage, and wants to cast him in his modern day take on the Great Gatsby. Vince returns to California to apologize to Eric and re-hires him as his manager.
